About Katie
Katie Mellinger is a fashion and celebrity makeup artist who claims no permanent home. The daughter of an Air Force officer, she grew up moving and never really stopped. She splits her time between Los Angeles and New York, and her work takes her everywhere in between.
Her career lives equally in two worlds. On the editorial side, she has shot for Vogue, Allure, Vanity Fair, W, the Wall Street Journal, Harper's Bazaar, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, among others, and has worked on advertising for Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Levi’s, and Daxxify. On the celebrity side, her ongoing clients include Sofia Coppola, Emma Watson, Stephanie Beatriz, Ruby Cruz, and Zosia Mamet, with work that has taken her to Cannes, Venice, Sundance, SXSW, the Oscars, and the Golden Globes.
She is known for a skin-first approach. Makeup that looks real and alive rather than applied. Reading the room is as important to her as the work itself, which is why her clients keep coming back. Katie is available for editorial, red carpet, press days, and brand activations worldwide. She is represented by The Wall Group.
